Can I picnic on a Fiddlehead beach if I don't camp over? Yes, many canoeists picnic on our beaches. We ask that you clean up after yourselves.

Can I park my car at Fiddlehead while I canoe the Saco River? We have limited parking available for those who camp with us at least one night. There is a $10 per vehicle parking fee for the nights you are not camping with us.

Can I rent a canoe from Fiddlehead? We do not rent canoes or provide livery service along the river. There are several canoe liveries in the Fryeburg area that provide excellent service. We recommend Saco Bound.

Can I buy supplies at Fiddlehead?  Our long-awaited store and bathroom facility is was built in early 2010 - Now, you will be able to get your firewood, ice and many other supplies.  This year, we've added "The Galley" - Tony's concession stand offering sausage, peppers & onions, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, baked curried tofu, and hand-cut French fries.Enjoy!

How can I avoid rowdy groups canoeing the river? Camping at Fiddlehead may help. The Saco River has something of a reputation as a "party" river - especially on summer week-ends. Campers at Fiddlehead agree to standard campground rules that help control noise and unruly behavior. Security staff is on duty Fridays and Saturdays. Canoe-camping Sunday to Thursday is a quieter experience.

Can I reserve a particular site or beach? Yes. Many folks have a long tradition of camping at a particular site or beach year after year. We will accommodate you with a first night's deposit.
